Job Description:
- Litigation Management: You Will Be Responsible For Managing The Company's Litigation Matters. This Includes Identifying Potential Legal Risks, Assessing The Merits Of Claims, And Developing Strategies To Protect The Company's Interests In Legal Proceedings. You May Collaborate With External Law Firms To Handle Litigation, Prepare Legal Documents, And Represent The Company In Court, If Required
- Dispute Resolution: In Addition To Litigation, You Will Be Involved In Resolving Disputes Through Alternative Means, Such As Negotiation, Mediation, Or Arbitration. Your Role Will Include Assessing The Strengths And Weaknesses Of Claims, Engaging With Opposing Parties, And Working Towards Favorable Settlement Agreements
- Contract Drafting And Review: As Part Of General Corporate Matters, You Will Be Responsible For Drafting, Reviewing, And Negotiating Various Contracts And Agreements. These May Include Client Contracts, Vendor Agreements, Service-level Agreements, And Confidentiality Agreements. Your Focus Will Be On Ensuring Compliance With Relevant Laws, Protecting The Company's Interests, And Minimizing Legal Risks
- Regulatory Compliance: You Will Monitor And Ensure Compliance With Relevant Laws And Regulations That Impact The Logistics Industry. This May Include Transportation Laws, Customs Regulations, Trade Compliance, Data Protection Laws, And Employment Regulations. You Will Provide Legal Guidance To Internal Teams, Develop Compliance Programs, And Conduct Trainings To Promote Adherence To Legal Requirements
- Risk Management: You Will Assist In Identifying And Managing Legal Risks Associated With The Company's Operations. This May Involve Conducting Legal Research, Providing Advice On Potential Risks, And Implementing Policies And Procedures To Mitigate Those Risks. You Will Work Closely With Other Departments, Such As Operations And Finance, To Ensure Legal Compliance In Their Activities
- Corporate Governance: You Will Contribute To General Corporate Governance Matters, Including Advising On Corporate Structure, Regulatory Filings, And Corporate Governance Best Practices. You May Support The Company's Board Of Directors And Executive Team On Matters Related To Corporate Governance, Shareholder Relations, And Compliance With Corporate Laws
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor of Law, with minimum of 8 PQE
- Excellent English commands (verbal and written, reporting line is an expat)
- Solid understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and legal procedures. Experience in handling complex litigation cases, including negotiation, mediation, and arbitration, is highly desirable
- Familiarity with the logistics industry, including an understanding of key legal issues specific to 3PL operations, is important. Experience in addressing legal challenges commonly faced by logistics companies, such as contract disputes, liability issues, transportation regulations, and supply chain management, will be advantageous
- Track record of successfully managing and resolving legal disputes. They should possess excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and the ability to assess risks, develop effective strategies, and make sound judgments are essential
- Experience in dealing with international litigation and cross-border disputes can be advantageous, particularly if the 3PL company operates globally. Knowledge of international laws, conventions, and dispute resolution mechanisms is valuable
- Given the sensitive and confidential nature of legal matters, the candidate must have high ethical standards and maintain confidentiality. They should demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to upholding legal and ethical standards in all aspects of their work
